Mental Health First Aid Training for Individuals

Already know what you need?

What is Mental Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training is designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. In a similar way to physical First Aid, MHFA helps attendees recognise these signs, to start a great conversation and to have the confidence to signpost to the appropriate professional support and options of self-care.

We all have Mental Health. Mental Health is about our emotional wellbeing and how we think, feel and behave. More than ever, having the tools to help ourselves and others has never been more important.

Upon completion of this training, you will be able to:

  • Identify early signs and symptoms of mental ill-health

  • Start supportive conversations with someone experiencing a Mental Health problem

  • Listen in a non-judgemental manner and provide reassurance

  • Assess the risk of self-harm and suicide

  • Signpost and encourage appropriate professional support

  • Better recognise and manage your own stress
