Mental Health First Aid Training (In-house) - Level 3

Who is it for?

  • For any colleagues with an interest in Mental Health and a desire to help others by having the knowledge to recognise suspected Mental Health conditions and be able to start a conversation with someone, and to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.

  • For those interested in understanding and recognising a range of different Mental Health condition, including signs and symptoms.

  • Managers, HR colleagues, Supervisors and Mental Health First Aiders. 

 

 

What is covered?

This qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a wide range of Mental Health conditions and learn about the support/therapy provided by professional healthcare providers.

 

They will know how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Learners will recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse. Learners will learn about Mental Health First Aid action plan, be able to put it in place and understand how to implement a positive Mental Health culture in the workplace.

 

Learners will not diagnose or treat Mental Health conditions as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals but will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a condition and know where they can go to get help.

  • Identifying Mental Health conditions

  • Providing advice and starting a conversation

  • Drugs & alcohol

  • Mental Health First Aid action plan

  • Mental Health First Aid in the workplace

  • Specific time dedicated to understanding a range of conditions including PTSD, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, Suicide, Self-Harm, Depression, Psychosis, Bipolar, Schizophrenia & Stress

Course Duration

  • Total Qualification Time is 14 hours of learning
