I reported into Scott in my first role as a people manager, and I was lucky to have such an attentive, thoughtful, and knowledgeable leader during what was a very big personal challenge. Scott’s style of coaching was perfect - happy to delegate, yet always on hand to provide insight and advice when needed.
Rarely have I seen teams that are so willing to pull together for a manager, and I think that is testament to the way in which Scott engaged, supported, and motivated his direct reports, myself included. Along with his people friendly approach, Scott also maintained a meticulous attention to detail, rarely missing a trick, which again meant he commanded great respect from not only his direct reports but also the wider community of employees under his leadership. He was a hugely popular leader of people, and I took away a great deal from working with him - he gave me a lot of confidence to be successful in the role and then push on with my career.
